How does a helicopter fly?

Unlike airplanes, helicopters have rotating wings at the top, called blades or rotors. When the helicopter blades rotate, they create a force called lift, which allows the helicopter to rise into the air. Helicopter propellers perform the same function as the wings of an airplane.
