MUSAN, the first underwater forest of its kind for divers, has opened in Cyprus.
MUSAN is located off the coast of Ayia Napa, in a place with very clean water and a minimum number of marine life, but the authors of the project assure that they will soon appear on the site in large numbers. The concept of “forest” here refers to the layout of 93 art objects, and to the structure of the park itself.
Some of the sculptures will become a framework for various types of underwater creatures, which will eventually give rise to a complex and life-rich environment-like in a real forest. The objects are located at different depths, from the surface itself to 10 m, the tourist route for visitors has the form of a trail passing through the forest. This will allow you to see different marine life, as well as find secrets, such as sculptures of children who arranged a photo shoot among the trees.
As the artist explains, modern people are infinitely far from nature, and he would like to remind them that a person should not lose touch with the surrounding world. The sculptures are made of various inert materials with neutral acidity. The park is officially available for scuba divers, freedivers and snorkeling enthusiasts. It is already open and receives the first visitors.
