Mercedes-Benz cars themselves will warn each other about potholes on the road

Mercedes-Benz has added a new feature to its intelligent Car-to-X communication system. Now they can recognize the presence of holes, potholes and “speed bumps” on the road, collect such information and exchange it within the network. This information can be used on all models released after 2016.
At first, the collection of information is entrusted to the newest models of the C-class and S-class, plus the EQS electric car. If the system detects a sudden compression and rebound of the shock absorbers on the front axle, and then the same on the rear, it interprets this as a physical interference. The coordinates of the place are determined automatically, the information is sent to the Car-to-X cloud.
Now, when a brand car approaches an obstacle, a warning will appear on the driver’s display no later than 10 seconds before the collision. Depending on the nature of the obstacle, this may be a signal “Road event”, “Caution, pit” or “Attention, speed bump”. Messages are displayed in all 36 languages that Car-to-X supports, this option is currently beginning to be implemented in the brand’s cars around the world.
