Arkup is a luxury yacht in the form of a modern villa with an area of 400 sq. m. It can float like an ordinary vessel, and can rise above the waves with the help of hydraulic supports that give it stability in case of rough waves. It is reported that this floating vehicle can withstand a category four hurricane. And it also costs 5.5 million US dollars. Arkup, the “yacht-house”, is literally a floating villa, which, with the help of two electric motors with a capacity of 100 kW / 272 hp, turns into a luxury sea vessel. It has 4 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, 4 bathrooms, a platform with a swimming pool, a retractable deck and a roof covered with solar panels, which makes the yacht completely autonomous in terms of electricity. Thanks to the rainwater purification system, the chances that the 15,000-liter fresh water tank will be dry are very small, so with enough food, you can live on it for a long time. Although this floating structure is not designed for harsh sea conditions, it can be raised above the water with the help of four hydraulic piles. It is reported that Arkup can rise to a height of up to 9 meters, which is quite enough for coastal waters.

Nicholas Deroin, one of the designers of the yacht-house, said in an interview with the Miami Herald: “We can’t compare the navigation capabilities and speed of the yacht with others. It is unlikely that you can go around the world on it, but it is quite possible to use it in the Bahamas or the British Virgin Islands.” The Arkup yacht-house reaches a maximum speed of 12.96 km / h and has a range of 20 nautical miles (37 km), which can be increased with the help of additional batteries or backup generators. It’s definitely not designed for long sailing adventures, that’s for sure. “It’s more of a house than a ship, but you’ll never lose the feeling of being in the water,” Derwin said. “There is enough space on it, you do not need to lower your head when moving, and you do not feel any rocking when you are inside, which is not the case with most yachts.”
