China builds the largest wind turbine in history

The Chinese company MingYang Smart Energy has announced the construction of a record-breaking wind turbine, the production of which will begin in 2024. It will be the largest structure of this type in history, whose height exceeds 260 m, which is higher than the MSU building.
Wind farms are becoming increasingly popular. Their capabilities are also constantly growing due to larger and larger wind turbines built by other companies from around the world. For example, the Chinese concern MingYang Smart Energy is preparing a real giant. The project called MySE 16.0-242 is to become the largest wind turbine in the world with a height of 262 m! For comparison: buildings the main building of Moscow University is 239.5 m.
The turbine will have a capacity of 16 MW, 118-meter blades and a rotor diameter of 242 m. These parameters will allow one turbine to produce 80 thousand. megawatt-hours per year, which will be enough for 20 thousand households. The turbine has already passed the appropriate certification in China, the prototype will be built in 2022, a year later it will be tested in practice, and in 2024 the device will go into mass production.
