The Burning Man 2021 festival will be held entirely in virtual reality

The popular Burning Man festival in 2021 will be held entirely in virtual reality for the first time. Last year, it was already partially moved there, because the pandemic caught the organizers by surprise. This year everything will be held normally, we have prepared for the virtual format in advance. To participate in the event, you only need to have a VR headset and free time. Admission is free, donations are welcome. There is still a risk of overloading the servers due to a large influx of applicants.
In 2020, more than half a million people watched the hastily organized broadcast, which is five times more than arrived live at the festival in 2019. This year’s program is built around the concept of the “Great Unknown” and is dedicated to the possibilities of self-expression in the post-pandemic world. The legendary wooden effigy will be burned as usual, in the desert, by a team of pyrotechnics, without live spectators. However, they will gather themselves at the unofficial “Renegade Burn” event in the Nevada desert – at least 10,000 participants are expected there.
