Google has released a dark theme for the search engine

After extensive testing, Google decided to introduce a dark theme for the search engine. Within a few weeks, it will be available to everyone. This was announced by the Google product manager.You can enable the new design through the “Search Settings”. When the function becomes available, the “View” section and the “Dark Theme”item will appear in the left menu. Also, the “System Theme” item will appear in the settings, which will adapt to the design of the themes in the user’s Windows and macOS.
The dark theme is applied to the Google home page, search results pages, and search settings. The dark theme for the mobile version of the search engine began to be introduced in May last year. However, the user’s choice is not synchronized between the desktop and the mobile device. Initially, the dark theme was only available for users using incognito mode. In May last year, Google began to introduce a dark theme in the search engine on smartphones with Android 10+ and iOS 12/13. Testing of the dark theme for the desktop version was announced in February of this year, although users noticed it back in January. GitHub introduced the dark mode in November last year. Facebook’s desktop version received it in 2020, and Facebook Messenger received it in 2019. In 2017, Twitter also introduced it. Also in February of this year, Microsoft Word began testing a dark mode with a dark “paper” color.
