Tesla offers motorists to change the usual steering wheel to a futuristic steering wheel

The vast majority of ordinary owners represent the steering wheel of a car in the form of a round hoop. Sizes and materials change, but the round shape of the steering wheel has long remained unchanged. The new Tesla S Plaid model challenges traditional ideas.
The developer believes that the steering wheel, vaguely similar to the Y-shaped steering wheel of an airplane or the game console of a game console, will allow you to focus more on the traffic situation and not be distracted by the levers of switches. Obviously, now there is also no need to peer into the instrument panel through the steering wheel. Testers note an excellent panoramic view of the road at any position of the driver’s seat.
In this Tesla model, there is no steering lever for turning on turn signals. Signal control has been transferred to the steering wheel buttons – and you will have to get used to it in order not to turn on the opposite pointer. Also, some testers noted pain in their hands after a long ride, excessive thickness of the steering wheel and loss of contact with it during its circular rotation in the parking lot.
The model S Plaid with such a steering wheel recently participated in a training race at the German Nurburgring race track and set a new world record for mass-produced electric vehicles. With a bad steering wheel, there would be no record. Of course, a professional race on a high-speed track requires fast, precise movements without changing the grip of the steering wheel, whereas in normal urban driving it often has to be rotated at large angles with interceptions.
In the near future, we will find out whether Tesla will keep this steering wheel or return the usual steering wheel to its place.
