In the USA, eye drops have been developed to replace glasses

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Vuity eye drops for the treatment of age-related myopia – presbyopia, which affects almost 130 million Americans.
Presbyopia is one of the symptoms of aging. Vuity drops are injected into the eyes once a day, which stimulates the constriction of the pupil of the eye for almost a day. In turn, the narrowed pupil increases the depth of field of the image of the object in the field of view.
Vuity drops were tested on 750 patients suffering from presbyopia aged 40 to 55 years. As a result, scientists found that after the introduction of drops, patients were able to read an additional three or more lines on the table to check their vision.
It was not without drawbacks: the narrowing of the pupil reduces the amount of light entering the eye. But this does not mean that the world becomes darker after using drops. Like video cameras, human eyes are able to adjust their sensitivity.
Knowing this, the manufacturer of Vuity – Allegran company (Ireland) still strongly recommends avoiding night driving after drinking drops and not “performing dangerous actions in poor lighting.”
As for side effects, less than 5% of the test participants experienced them. There was also no negative interaction with other drugs.
The company reports the final result: drops improve vision – near and medium – although their effectiveness still decreases for patients after 65 years.
