The roof of the metro station in Shenzhen has turned into a luxurious park

It took only a few decades to transform the small Chinese fishing village of Shenzhen into a giant metropolis with a population of about 17 million people. To enliven this realm of concrete, metal and glass a little, the Indian architectural company Crossboundaries turned the huge roof of the depot of the 2nd metro line 1200 meters long into a high-rise park.
The project was named Shenzhen Skypark. The park is located at an altitude of 15 meters. The width of the object in the narrowest and widest places is 50 and 70 meters, respectively, the total roof area is 7.3 hectares.
In order to simplify the management of the facility, it was divided into several small areas where sports facilities, park areas, special areas for schools, mass walks, training of professional athletes and competitions are located.
Sports facilities include playgrounds for basketball, football, volleyball, tennis and other sports. Next to them there are areas for spectators, changing rooms, places where various services are provided, and special walking paths have been laid for those who like walking. On a hot afternoon, you can hide in the shade of trees that are watered with rainwater. You can get to the high-rise park through six entrances by stairs and using elevators.
