You can lick the “TTTV” display and find out the taste of the dish on the screen

A professor from Japan, Homei Miyashita, created a device called “Taste The TV”. The creator hopes that TTTV will allow different people to experience the cuisine of world-class restaurants without leaving home. To do this, various products are mixed according to the recipe, and sensors record their taste. Then the chemical flavor concentrate is sprayed onto a removable plastic coating or onto a disposable tray. Next, the sheet is automatically placed on the display, and you try the resulting result on the tongue. After that, the sheet is disposed of.
The video below demonstrates all possible options for using TTTV: as a menu that gives an idea of the taste of the upcoming meal, as a way to train wine sommeliers or as a device for flavoring crackers. Will the licking screen turn out to be a dummy like home 3D cinemas or curved televisions? Almost certainly. But still, who among us didn’t sometimes want to lick the screen while watching videos about cooking on YouTube? Obviously, the device has weaknesses: at a minimum, it looks more like a bulky tablet than a TV. And trying to watch something while simultaneously trying to lick the display is quite inconvenient.
But these practical nuances do not detract from children’s curiosity to try on the tongue what Remy says in the cartoon “Ratatouille” when he describes how magically cheese and strawberries are combined. In addition, the device will offer a combination of strictly defined varieties of products. Perhaps Miyashita’s idea of a delicious screen is more suitable for information systems than for entertainment. But it is quite realistic that in the future it will be reborn into an aerosol dispenser complete with a TV for full immersion in the picture, or cinemas will be able to give your popcorn a flavor that goes well with the current scene.
The device has not yet been put on sale, but Miyashita is considering a commercial version of Taste the TV for $ 875.
