A flying catamaran will “restart” the era of giant airships

In the 2020s, humanity rushed to heaven en masse – on copters, hoverbikes, private spaceships and other original devices. Designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini decided to support this trend and try to breathe life into the undeservedly forgotten class of huge and luxurious airships. His creation, so far in the form of a concept, is called “Air Yacht” (air yacht) and is a unique flying catamaran.
An airship with a single, albeit huge, compartment-divided camera is always vulnerable. A structure with two 150 m long hulls filled with 400,000 cubic meters of helium has a better chance of avoiding an accident. It not only flies at a speed of 110 km / h, but can also be driven, after which it can successfully sail at a speed of up to 9 km / h to a safe place. The airship has eight rotors with rotary mechanisms, thanks to which it can skillfully maneuver in three dimensions, hover in the air and even plan.
Between the two side chambers is a central gondola 80 m long and 10 m wide, which houses the control cabin and the luxurious owner’s cabin. The latter will have a 360-degree view, separate exits to the spacious dining area and to the helicopter deck – an airship of this size simply has to have a similar element. Guests are offered to be accommodated in 10 cabins on the outside of the helium chambers, where they will have a magnificent view from the windows.
There are closed passages between all sections of the Air Yacht, cabins are equipped with bathrooms, there is an extensive food warehouse and a wine store on board. The battery charge reserve is enough for only 48 hours of cruising speed, however, a set of solar panels is located on the modules, which allows the device to drift unhurriedly for almost unlimited time. The concept has a completely neutral carbon footprint, and it itself is intended to serve as an example of a beautiful and luxurious, but at the same time completely eco-friendly means of transportation.
