Ford will supply new cars without chips – they will be installed sometime later

The entire global industry is facing a shortage of computer chips, and car manufacturers are among the most affected. For example, last month Ford shut down eight factories at once due to a shortage of these components. However, now the automaker has made a Solomonic decision – the cars will still go to customers, just without a number of secondary options for which these chips are needed.
The decision is forced, but quite wise, because technically the vast majority of chips in a modern car are needed for secondary purposes. For example, wireless control of the on-board computer, operation of climate control, multimedia system, etc. Ford engineers scratched at the chips and distributed the chips found so that new cars could drive and meet safety requirements, but nothing more. Sorry, in difficult times, you can also give up comfort.
When buying such a car, a discount will be made and a receipt will be issued, according to which in the future it will be possible to come to the Ford service, where all the missing modules will be installed for free. However, no one can say even approximately when this will happen. On the other hand, it is better to drive now than to wait for the world market to be filled with the right amount of chips again.
