The British Prodrive has developed an off-road hypercar for rally fans

The British company Prodrive gained fame as the creator of racing SUVs for rally, so a big and at the same time pleasant surprise for motorists was the “amateur” version of the Dakar Hunter T1 — Prodrive Hunter developed by it.
The lack of rally regulations allowed the developers to remove as much as 600 hp from the Ford 3.5 V6 twin-turbocharged engine, which is 50% higher than that of the racing prototype. It is complemented by a six-speed gearbox with a smooth and almost instantaneous shift system, as well as permanent all-wheel drive on all 4 wheels. The maximum speed of an off-road supercar is about 300 km/h. Hunter accelerates to 100 km/h in less than four seconds.
The design developer is ex-Jaguar and Aston Martin stylist Ian Callum. The two-seat cab retains the racing style in the spirit of Dakar with elements of modern automotive luxury: carbon fiber seats and interior trim, six-point seat belts, a “naked” frame, dashboard and navigator worthy of luxury SUVs.
The body is also made of carbon fiber and composites produced by Prodrive Composites, under which a high-strength steel frame is hidden. Hunter is “shod” in 35-inch tires, and the wheels are equipped with six-piston brake calipers arranged in a circle.
Prodrive Hunter will be released in a limited batch of only 25 cars. The price of a racing SUV is 1.6 million dollars.
