London wants to build a spherical concert hall with the largest screen in the world

London’s Madison Square Garden together with the stadium designer Populous have developed a plan for the concert hall “MSG Sphere London”. According to the architects’ idea, this is a much-enlarged version of the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, a giant entertainment center. It will be distinguished by two incredible screens – a high-resolution display inside and an outer shell, which will entirely be a platform for image output.
The building will have a height of 90 m and a width of 120 m in the form of a sphere with extensions. The entire outer part will be covered with panels with arrays of controlled LEDs, which will allow images of arbitrary complexity and magnitude to be formed. It can be both ordinary advertising and posters, ads, entertainment content, or just scenic views.
Inside, the main room is allocated for an auditorium, the rest will house restaurants, boutiques, gyms, etc. Technical specifications are not announced, but it is stated that the screen inside will be the largest in the world and will receive the highest possible resolution with modern technologies. In addition to it, smart acoustics will be installed, which will be able to project audio streams to each spectator seat, plus a vibration system to create a presence effect.
The energy supply of the building is planned from renewable sources, it has a green roof and a rational water processing system. The project has exactly one minus – although local planners are not against it, the current mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has already refused to build two equally grandiose structures. And it may well not give permission for this.
