Alpen has released a capsule for storing bicycles
Alpen has taken into account the wishes of customers and released a new version of an autonomous storage capsule, which will fit a bicycle of almost any size. In particular, wide-steering mountain models, electric bicycles of all types and cargo vehicles. The principle of operation has not changed – the bike is placed in a molded polyethylene chamber, covered with a lid that closes with a lock.
However, there are many innovations in the Basecamp version, in addition to increasing the size of the internal camera to 216x81x141 cm. The lock is now not mechanical, but electronic, with activation via Bluetooth and unlocking via a smartphone app. You can set up a circle of people who will be able to open it at a given time to ride. This solution is also suitable for organizing a bicycle rental service in hard-to-reach places where it is unprofitable to build a stationary garage.
A hatch appeared in the capsule for connecting bicycle batteries to an external energy source during storage. Added a rollback stop for the rear wheel, Hiplok Ankr fasteners for securely fixing the bike, hooks for various small items, helmets and bags. The capsule is not afraid of precipitation or ultraviolet light.
The price of the new version of Basecamp is $2399, the former Classic is sold for $1799.
