A Swytch battery the size of a smartphone will turn an ordinary bicycle into an electric bike

Given the huge popularity of bicycles in European countries, many manufacturers are trying to expand their capabilities with compact electric motors.
Thus, the British company Swytch, which has managed to develop several power sources for electric bikes in the five years since its creation, has already put on the market about 40,000 kits for upgrading classic bicycles. Next up is an updated version of the battery.
The kit complements the front wheel, which is equipped with a hub motor with a power of 250 watts. For the full functioning of the system, it is also necessary to install a two-part pedal sensor and a modified electrical connector.
Swytch reported that the power supply is the size of a large smartphone and weighs about 700 grams. Its charge is enough for a 15-kilometer run. Charging time is 1 hour. The company is ready to increase these frankly modest characteristics by increasing the weight of the power supply to 1.1 kg and the mileage to 30 km.
As early as next month, Swytch will start accepting pre-orders and guarantees future buyers significant discounts. The estimated price of the power supply is about 1300 US dollars.
